What to expect ... Jin Shin Jyutsu

Our initial session will give us the opportunity to identify a place of focus, what you hope to achieve and where to start.

 

As a valuable compliment to conventional treatments, Jin Shin Jyutsu is an effective tool for managing stress and will specifically address a number of physical and emotional health issues.

 

You will be asked lie on your back on a massage table. No need to disrobe. Pillows may be provided to support your head, knees or back as needed.

 

Jin Shin Jyutsu is practiced by placing fingertips over clothing on designated points located on the front and back of the body. Combinations of these points are held to bring a certain effect on the body. This is done without massage, manipulation of muscles, or the use of drugs or substances.

 

A typical session starts with listening to pulses on both wrists, these show which points need to be held or "jumper cabled." You may also share any particular concerns or issues you would like addressed: a migraine, allergies, maybe arthritis pain. Then settle back. You may talk if you'd like or just take the opportunity to relax. Most clients fall asleep during sessions. This is considered quite a compliment.  

 

You'll be on the table for about fifty minutes; less time is given if you are weak or very ill. You may also choose a shorter treatment time if that is comfortable for you. At the end of the session your pulses will be listened to again. Take your time sitting up. You'll be advised to drink plenty of water if you can and to rest when you get home.

 

The effect of a session lasts for about eight hours and produces a sense of calm and deep relaxation. Many clients report a good night's sleep.

 

Because the origins of Jin Shin Jyutsu lie in self-healing, clients are offered self-help flows to utilize at home. This allows for participation in your own healing. Daily practice helps to enhance and prolong the benefits of each session, which in turn promotes optimal health and well-being.
